Vedanta Institute (Madras)

Vedanta Institute (Madras) is a public charitable trust that is involved in spreading value based education designed and rendered by Swami Parthasarathy. The institute organises lecture series by Swamiji and Sunandaji annually and Gurupurnima Talks, retreats and Seminars conducted by Swamiji. All activities of the institute are run by alumni and volunteers.

The center conducts weekly classes on Swamiji’s works on Vedanta and scriptural texts such as the Bhagavad Gita by the alumni of Vedanta Academy run by Swamiji.

The Academy

Vedanta Academy was founded by Swami Parthasarathy in 1988, It is a world resource to help people understand, research and disseminate the world of Vedanta. The intense three-year full-time residential course on Vedanta is aimed at people between 18 and 30 years of age.

At any given time, there are about 60 students studying the 3-year course. Students learn through lectures and audio-visual presentations by Swamiji, group discussions, physical exercise, and community singing. Graduates will be awarded a diploma in Vedanta philosophy upon completion.
